Yet Stephen Jones contradicted him with an ‘update’ that suggested Dak might end up staying, committing to ‘Husband’ energy.
Amidst all the heat Dak Prescott’s contract situation has received, the QB has persevered to do the right thing and be patient. But his patience may start to wear thin as the NFL analysts have started questioning if he should want to remain with the Cowboys after the present ordeal.

For all the chatter surrounding Dak Prescott, the Cowboys QB has not taken a step wrong. The Cowboys have continued to be slammed by the media for the facade this situation has untangled into. Meanwhile, their efforts to convince have failed to materialize into positive updates for either the media or Dak Prescott. In the latest segment of Speak, NFL analyst Joy Taylor shared a damning analogy that perfectly described how the Dallas Cowboys are keeping Dak in the dark.
The analyst stated, “They want husband energy but they’re giving situationship Vibes,” suggesting that the Dallas team wants Dak to stay but refuse to commit for reasons unknown. She went on to share that the entire conundrum is confusing as they publicly say one thing, but their actions contradict almost everything they’re trying to convey. Joy went on to question, “Why wouldn’t you already have been trying to get a deal deal done as we know the price only goes up.”
The grim reality shared by the analyst might prove to be a costly mistake for the Cowboys. Since, the current contract places all the leverage in Dak’s corner, it is all the more astonishing why Jerry and Stephen are confusing the narrative for their franchise.

Jerry Jones has publicly stated that he intends to wait before handing out new contracts to the Cowboys stars. And yet, Stephen Jones recently came out to contradict his father by reportedly assuring the fans and media that they are seeking to extend Dak Prescott. The confusion continues beyond Jerry Jones’ statement, as his Trey Lance admission sparked rumors that the Cowboys have already given up on extending Dak Prescott.
However, Jerry Jones would backtrack his words somewhat after admitting he wants Dak to stay. Dallas Cowboys have endured Salary Cap gymnastics this past offseason which has earned them quite the heat from their fans. The extended confusion surrounding Dak Prescott will only antagonize the fanbase rather than fill them with excitement.
As David Helman stated, all eyes will remain on the season start now, where the Cowboys would be expected to give something confirmed to their fanbase. However, if they do continue to dodge the situation further, it will only end up hurting their purse and roster in an expected sense.
