The 31-year-old actress, who opened up about being diagnosed with bipolar disorder in 2020, recently hosted a special event for her Rare Impact fund. During the event, $7 million was raised for mental health causes, leaving Selena feeling hopeful and inspired. She took to social media to express her gratitude and excitement, mentioning how much mental health advocacy means to her. Selena is honored to share this important mission with the world and is thankful for the support received on this meaningful journey.  

Selena Gomez has found renewed inspiration in the younger generation’s approach to mental health. The 31-year-old actress, who bravely shared her bipolar disorder diagnosis in 2020, recently hosted a special event for her Rare Impact fund on Wednesday.



In a recent announcement, it was shared that the organization managed to secure $7 million for mental health initiatives. The individual then expressed gratitude on social media, stating that they were filled with “so much hope” after the successful fundraising efforts.

They extended thanks to everyone who participated and continues to advocate for positive change. A conversation took place between the Only Murders in the Building actress and U.S. Surgeon General Vice Admiral Vivek Murthy during the event. They discussed the importance of social connections and highlighted the impact of communities like the one created by Selena.

The Surgeon General praised the Rare Beauty founder for leading the way in promoting self-acceptance, support, and healing on a global scale. In October 2023, the former Disney Channel star hosted the inaugural Rare Impact Fund Benefit at Nya Studios in Hollywood. During her speech, she candidly shared about her personal struggles leading up to her bipolar disorder diagnosis in 2020.



She admitted to battling inner turmoil for an extended period, feeling lost and hopeless at times. However, receiving her diagnosis provided her with the necessary tools to navigate through challenging circumstances and find healing.

During the event, The Only Murders in the Building actress chatted with U.S. Surgeon General Vice Admiral Vivek Murthy about the importance of social connections and the impact of communities, such as the one Selena has built.

In an Instagram post, she shared her excitement after attending the 3rd annual @rarebeauty Mental Health Summit. She mentioned feeling inspired by the younger generation, hopeful for the future, and thankful to everyone for joining them on this important journey.
