Growling Dog’s Legs Were Tied Together He Drags Himself & Pants In Pain

When Animal Aid responded to a call about a dog dragging himself through the garbage, they had no idea what they were in for. The unfortunate boy’s hind legs were bound together, and the rescuers had no idea why. He struggled to move, panting from the heat and the pain. Thankfully, this was just the beginning of his journey.

The dog was taken back to the rescue facility. He was seated on the examination table. The vet’s staff was unable to determine what caused him to become paralyzed. No noticeable wounds or scars were present. But as they touched him, his body went completely rigid from pain. It was heartbreaking.

The dog was given the name “Comfy” by the rescuers. But the dog was anything but at ease. After being given sedation and painkillers, the dog first appeared to be in a calm, peaceful mood, but after sleeping and eating, his entire demeanor changed.

Comfy resisted all attempts to touch her. He would growl and bark at anyone who tried to approach him. The biggest problem was that Comfy needed physical therapy, and in order for him to recover, he needed a therapist to touch him. What action did they plan to take this time? How were they going to assist this dog without adding to his trauma?

They had to devise a strategy. Consultation with their most experienced trainer came first. She consented to work with Comfy. The dog had to learn to trust human touch in order to start physical therapy. He needed to be approached slowly and with kindness, that much was clear. The instructor did exactly that.

At first, Comfy had a lot of anxiety. especially during therapeutic sessions. His body tensed, and he was tempted to growl once more. Comfy, on the other hand, gradually and steadily realized that the hands that were placed on him were meant to assist him rather than harm him via patience and kindness.

He started to make progress but it was slow…

…but Comfy was starting to love his therapy sessions…

And their patience was rewarded, after 5 months, he was able to stand and walk on his own two feet
