This Is What Happens When A Bunch Of Introverted Dogs Gather At The Dog Park

Dog parks are generally filled with tons of misfit mutts, playing, running, jumping, fighting, sniffing, and barking the day away. After all, the whole point of bringing Fido to one of the gated and enclosed areas designated for dogs is so they can interact and socialize. But what if your dog just isn’t that into interacting with others? That would make him or her an introvert. Apparently some pet owners of introverted canines decided to herd them all together for an afternoon at the dog park, and what went down has the internet howling.

A viral video has revealed what happens when introverted dogs hang out together at the park — and it’s hilarious.

Posted by TikTok user @qilastiktok, the 20-second clip shows a group of shy dogs uncomfortably standing still during a meet-and-greet. Instead of playing fetch or running around wagging their tails, the pups in Sweden don’t know how to interact around one another.

“My dog is an introvert so we went for a meeting with likeminded dogs. This is what happened. It’s like a pasture of cows,” the TikTok user said. In the video, several dogs can be seen standing close to their owners in silence and avoiding eye contact with the other pups.

One person commented: “Maybe bring in a Golden Retriever as the facilitator next time.” While another added: “This is the most relatable content I’ve ever seen.”

Sofia’s rescue pup Qila, who has her own Instagram account, was invited to the meet by a dog psychologist organizing the event in the hopes of helping the pups to break out of their shells and get them socializing with like-minded ‘calm’ dogs. Whelp, the meet-up ended up looking like an office holiday party before the open bar opened.

As Sofia told CNN, the meet-up lasted about an hour, and the dogs actually had a pretty good time at first, but understandably, their social batteries ran out by the end, leaving the dogs sitting around awkwardly staring into the distance. I’m sure they were daydreaming about being back at home and cozying up in their beds, neither another dog nor human in sight.

The hilariously relatable moment was shared on Instagram and Tiktok, quickly becoming a hit. “This was almost at the end of the meeting and we all thought it looked so funny so I recorded it,” Sofia wrote in the caption. “It’s like a pasture of cows,” stated the overlaying text in the video.

According to This Dogs Life, introverted dogs display with same signs that introverted people do. Some of the things to look out for include your dog not wanting to play with others, sitting and watching others play, and keeping to himself.

While all dogs have unique personalities, some of the breeds most likely to be introverts include Greyhounds, Great Danes, Basset Hounds and Cavalier King Charles Spaniels.
